WATER TREATMENT
In the water treatment of evaporative cooling systems, we are taking a completely new approach with an innovative and sustainable approach: for the first time, we are enabling 100% substitution of biocides – as has long been envisaged in the Ordinance on Hazardous Substances – by using natural microorganisms and stabilizers for hardness through biological inhibitors based on biopolymers. We also work with P-reduced corrosion inhibitors to further improve wastewater quality for our customers.
USE OF
FUNCTIONAL MICROORGANISMS
Our Sustainable Water Innovations have a positive impact on the environment by reducing the impact on surface water quality, protecting already overused aquifers, and enhancing biodiversity and biodiversity. Our disruptive approach to product change benefits the industry multiple times: in the future, hazardous substances are no longer used but are substituted at 100%. This can reduce water consumption by up to 38% and optimize total operating costs by up to 29%. It also improves CO2 emissions.
CHALLENGES OF
INDUSTRIAL WATER SUPPLY
For decades, there have been few real innovations in the industrial water treatment of evaporative cooling few real innovations, although the industry is facing major challenges:
1. industrial economy/ water use
The industrial economy consumes around 75% of the water in Germany, with 85% of this amount being used for cooling production and energy generation plants, which is often extracted from aquifers via deep wells.
2. water pollution
To prevent cooling water contamination, 1.6 million tons of biocides are used globally every year.
3. inefficient cooling systems
Inefficient cooling systems not only emit more CO2, they also consume significantly more water than optimized and microbiologically clean systems. A biofilm thickness of just 1.4 mm on heat exchangers reduces the effectiveness of heat transfer by 50%.
